Frequently asked questions
Is SupportGroups.online a therapy service?
No. SupportGroups.online is a peer-support marketplace, not a licensed therapy or clinical service. Facilitators may hold professional credentials, but groups are not a substitute for individual therapy or psychiatric treatment. If you are in crisis, call 988 or your local emergency number.
Who leads the groups?
Groups are led by vetted facilitators — coaches, counselors, community leaders, churches, and organizations. All facilitators apply through our host program and agree to our community guidelines before going live.
How does payment work?
Sessions are paid securely through Stripe. Facilitators receive 50% of each session payment. The platform retains 50% to cover hosting, tooling, and platform support. You can pay per session or in packages set by the facilitator.
Can I join groups from outside the US?
Yes. SupportGroups.online is a global platform. Groups are hosted virtually, and you can search by timezone, language, or location. Facilitators from any country are welcome to apply.
What if I want a refund?
Refunds may be requested within 24 hours of booking if the session has not yet occurred. See our Refund Policy for full details.
How do I become a facilitator?
Apply through the Host Application on the app. We review credentials, background, and group concept before approval. There is no monthly fee to host — we only earn when you earn.
